If you need to level the glass,
why not just level the glass?
It sounds obvious once you say it out loud. Instead of reaching into the profile, moving wedges and packers, checking the result and repeating the process, Turbo-Flex lets you move the glass itself into the position you want, then lock it there.
The difference is simple: the glass stays under your control throughout the adjustment. You are not trying to influence its position indirectly by altering components hidden inside the profile.

Everything you need to know.
Clear answers about loadings, glass options, installation, finishes, tools, handrails, technical documents and online ordering.
What loadings are Turbo-Flex profiles tested to?
All four current Turbo-Flex profiles - TF-6620, TF-6621, TF-3620 and TF-3621 - have been tested in accordance with BS 6180:2011 for applications up to 1.50kN, when used with the correct certified combination of glass .
Which glass thicknesses can I use with Turbo-Flex?
Turbo-Flex glass mounting kits are available for glass thicknesses from 12mm up to 21.52mm.
Thinner glass options may be suitable for installations where barrier regulations do not apply, commonly including certain residential applications protecting a fall of less than 600mm.
Always confirm the glass specification against the relevant certificate, project design and applicable building requirements before ordering.
Can Turbo-Flex be installed from one side only?
Yes. Turbo-Flex is designed so the glass can be positioned, adjusted and secured entirely from the installer side.
This is particularly useful on balconies, roof terraces and other locations where access to the outside of the balustrade is difficult, unsafe or impossible.
It can reduce the need for scaffolding, access equipment or a second installer working from the opposite side.
What finishes are available?
Available finishes include mill finish, anodised aluminium and powder-coated options.
Selected RAL colours and specialist finishes may also be available, depending on the profile and product selected.
What tools do I need to adjust the glass?
No tools are needed to adjust the glass itself.
The panel is positioned and aligned by hand until it is level and sitting at the required angle.
Once the glass is correctly positioned, the Turbo-Flex mounting tool and 6Nm torque adaptor are used with a suitable combi-drill to lock the mounting packers securely in place.
The torque adaptor helps apply the same controlled tightening force to every fixing, creating a more precise and consistent installation.
Do I need to use a handrail?
This depends on the glass type and the height of the fall being protected. As a simple general guide:
- Fall height below 600mm: a handrail is generally not required, regardless of whether the glass is toughened or toughened laminated.
- Fall height of 600mm or more with toughened glass: a handrail is required.
- Fall height of 600mm or more with suitable toughened laminated glass: a handrail may not be required, subject to the certified glass specification and project design.
This is a general guide only. The final glass and handrail requirement should always be checked against the project design, certification and applicable building regulations.
Can I download certificates and technical drawings?
Yes. Certificates, PDF drawings and CAD files can be accessed from the profile section on this page or from the relevant product area.
Can I order Turbo-Flex online?
Yes. You can shop directly by profile, use the System Builder to create a hardware basket from your metreage and accessory requirements, or use OnLevel Studio for a more detailed, project-led configuration.
